Dear Patients and Families,
The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in unprecedented changes in our daily lives. To help contain community spread of the virus and avoid travel for our patients when possible, we are incorporating telemedicine services into our practice.
For chronic medical problem management, you can discuss your care with your provider by either video or phone at the time of your appointment. Prescriptions and lab requests can be sent electronically. We can also mail any paperwork if necessary.
For visits via video, you will need to use a device with a camera. When your care provider is ready to see you, he or she will send you an email or a text message via doxy.me with a link. Please click on the link, enter your name, and click on “check in” and “enable camera.” You will then be in a virtual waiting room for your provider to join you.
If the above sounds too complicated, alternatively, your provider will call you on your phone.
- We can perform Medicare Wellness Visits via telemedicine. If you are on Medicare and have not had a wellness visit in the past year, we encourage you to call our office to schedule it.
- For urgent care visits, we no longer take walk-in patients. Please call our office to schedule for telemedicine service; if you need to be seen physically or have a procedure done, you will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors over the phone and given a specific time to come in to minimize wait time.
- For laboratory services, we kindly request you to call our office before arrival to be screened for COVID-19 and to minimize your wait time.
- We cannot perform yearly physicals for patients with commercial insurance at the moment since this service usually requires an EKG and a detailed physical exam.
We do NOT test or treat COVID-19 in our office.
We will not see new patients via telemedicine.
Both of our offices will remain open Monday through Friday until further notice. Our Somerset office will no longer be open during Saturday morning hours, but patients can utilize our telemedicine service from 9am to 1pm on both Saturdays and Sundays.
Stay safe and healthy.
