Thomas Schwartzer, MD, MS, PhD

Dr. ThomasSchwartzer

Dr. Schwartzer is a practicing internist and one of the founding partners at Central Jersey Internal Medicine Associates. He is Board-Certified in internal medicine/hospital medicine and clinical laboratory medicine. His special interests include chronic disease management, clinical nutrition, personalized medicine and provision of comprehensive care across the adult life spectrum.

Dr. Schwartzer received his undergraduate training at Thomas A. Edison College and Rutgers University. He obtained a Master’s degree at Wagner College in Medical Bacteriology and Ph.D. at UMDNJ-Rutgers University in Immunology/Virology. He studied Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed his residency training at St. Peters University Hospital.

He has published over 35 papers in medical literature and has been an Associate Professor of Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine at Drexel Medical School. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Medicine.

Tariq A. Rizvi, MD

Dr. Tariq A. Rizvi is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician and co-founder of Central Jersey Internal Medicine Associates. Dr. Rizvi earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Dow Medical College in Pakistan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Peter’s Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  He has been a hospitalist and emergency department physician and acted as a consultant to a World Health Organization survey.

He co-authored a periodical published in the American College of Physicians Residents Abstracts Competition in 1983.He currently teaches at Drexel University. He is a member of the Board of Vascular Quality Assurance at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is also a Delegate to the Medical Society of New Jersey from Middlesex County and on the Board of Trustees of the Middlesex County Medical Society.

 Deepak Jain, MD

Dr. Deepak Jain is a Board-Certified Internist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Drexel Medical School. Dr. Jain received his Bachelor of Science degree from Stony Brook University and medical education at Saint Georges Medical School.

He completed his residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Christina Wang-Epstein, MD, PhD

Dr.Wang-Epstein

Dr. Christina Wang-Epstein has been with our practice since 2007 and is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine. She received her medical degree from Beijing Medical University in China and her Ph.D. degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the State University of New York, Health Science Center at Brooklyn.

She completed her internship at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and residency at Jersey City Medical Center.  They are both affiliated with Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Wang-Epstein is fluent in both Mandarin and English.

Abigail Lore, MD

Dr. Abigail Lore

Dr. Abigail Lore is a board certified internist and graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine residency program located at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ has enthusiastically joined our practice. Born and raised in Bridgewater, NJ she is excited to start new relationships with patients that will last for many years.

Dr. Lore received her Bachelor of Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ and then continued to study and received her Medical degree from Ross University Medical School. Dr. Lore’s interest outside of medicine include lacrosse and running. She was a member of the Fairleigh Dickinson University women’s lacrosse team and continues to play in alumni games each year. She is also an avid runner and often participates in local races.

Amy Sirkin, DNP, NP, C

Amy Sirkin is an Adult Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She received her Masters and Doctorate degrees from the University of Medicine and Dentistry. She has been a Nurse Practitioner with Central Jersey Internal Medicine since 2004.

Amy previously worked as adjunct faculty at UMDNJ nurse practitioner program from 1999-2010 and as a Nurse Practitioner at Saint Peter’s University Hospital with the departments of Cardiology and Internal Medicine.

Adriana Ackerman, APN, BC

Adriana Ackerman is an Advanced Practice Nurse in Adult Health.  She received her BSN from Wagner College in 1984 and her MSN as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Seton Hall University in 2006.

Adriana has practiced as an APN at CJIMA since 2006 and is affiliated with St. Peters University Hospital and Willow Creek Rehabilitation and Care Center.

She lives in Somerset County with her husband and two sons.  She enjoys spending time with her family, organic gardening, cooking, and volunteering her time at her son’s school.

Mary Elizabeth Schwartzer, RD

Mary Elizabeth Schwartzer, RD holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional Sciences from Rutgers University. She completed her dietetic internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she was trained in clinical and community dietetics.

Mary Elizabeth is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, New Jersey Dietetic Association, Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetics Practice Group and Medical Nutrition Practice Group. As a Registered Dietitian, Mary Elizabeth provides individual nutrition counseling to help patients identify and meet their nutrition goals. She works closely with our medical team to provide medical nutrition therapy for the treatment and prevention of disease, management of medical conditions and promotion of overall health and wellness.
